When I go, later in the evening, it is not crowded. For the cost, it's ten times better than any Planet Fitness and the vibe here is totally chill, everyone just doing their own thing.
I have been a member of The Gym for 11 years, and have always been extremely happy with the equipment and service. The Judo instruction is exceptional and the suspended floor is the best in the state - the envy of any club, as especially forgiving for those of who are older in saving our joints. I have had to cancel memberships for family members on my membership with absolutely no problems - just follow the procedurws stated clearly in the contract you signed. It is not difficult. The owner is very helpful and treats everyone fairly

The gym has always had everything I need when it comes to athletic performance and the owner is very welcoming and charismatic. I always have fun here!
While the direct draw from the bank account is somewhat different, the owner assured me that I can cancel at anytime, given I send a simple letter to him for his records. I am glad to support this is a locally owned business.
The Gym has a wide range of machines as well as free weights available for use. I currently only use the facility for strength training but I know that there are also judo classes that can be attended. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I appreciate that the building and equipment are clean and maintained. Lockers and showers are also provided here.
I joined The Gym to start Judo classes, which are offered at a VERY reasonable fee, two classes per week. I like my classmates and sensei, and feel like I've learned quite a bit in the last couple of months here.
The place is clean and offers a multitude of free weights, machines, treadmills, etc that any other gym would offer. For members, it has after hours access. Two unique features: a sports climbing wall treadmill and a large, suspended sprung martial arts mat, which VERY helpful for not hurting yourself after you get thrown. In comparison, to the few other local martial arts locations I have been to, none have had this impressive feature.
The Gym of Lake Orion is a great place to work out. Clean, friendly, and consistent. I have been a member for 8+ years and I will continue to be a member for another 8+ years without question. Great price, quality equipment, and a lot more space than other gyms I have been a guest at. I never feel over crowded even when the gym is full because of the well thought out lay out/placement of equipment. I recommend friends, family, and strangers.
